Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
Gorilla trekking is one of the most awe inspiring wildlife encounters offering travellers a one of a kind encounter with endangered mountain gorillas up close in their natural habitat. These majestic animals are only found in the tropical rainforests of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mountain gorillas in Uganda are found only in two national parks, including Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Gorilla are social animals living in family groups referred to as Gorilla Families led by a dominant silverback male and are majestic, highly intelligent, and social animals. They communicate through a repertoire of up to 25 distinct sounds. They share strong family bonds and are known to create and use to tools such as stones and sticks. Seeing them build nests on the ground or in trees using branches and leaves is fascinating, they build nests during day and at night. Sadly, they are critically endangered according to the IUCN Red List.Â

Chimpanzee Trekking
Chimpanzee trekking is a thrilling and exciting activity that attracts many tourists worldwide to travel to Uganda and have a great experience. This activity always involves individuals to hike through the forests while tracking the footprints of the chimpanzees and locating the nests that the species made the previous night or the left overs of food with an aim of locating the chimpanzee groups so easily. During this process, tourists get so tired but it is rewarding immediately the chimps are located. Uganda is considered as the best destination one could ever travel to for chimpanzee trekking activities due to the fact that it has an estimated number of over 4950 chimpanzee and among these, 1500 chimpanzees are found in Kibale Forest hence making it a haven for chimpanzee trekking activities. There are 3 major destinations that are ranked as the best destinations for chimpanzee trekking activities in Uganda and these include; Kibale Forest National Park, Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kaniyo pabidi in Murchison Falls National Park however this activity can also be conducted in many other places like; Kalinzu forest reserve in Kasese, Mgahinga gorilla national park and many others.
Chimpanzee trekking rules and regulations are the laws put in place with an aim of governing and ensuring the safety of both the primate species and the tourists and these rules are stipulated by the government and the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Birding in Uganda is one of the top safari activities. Uganda is popularly known as a birding paradise and a haven, containing over half of Africa’s bird species. Uganda is known for its rich and diverse birdlife, with over 1,000 species recorded in the country. Among these are several unique and interesting bird species: shoebills, green-breasted pittas, fox’s weaver, African finfoot, African fish eagle, Rwenzori turaco, arrow-marked babbler, hamerkop, and many more.Â

Tree Climbing Lions
Tree climbing lions are such attractive and unique animal species in among African countries. In the entire East Africa, tree climbing lions are found in Queen Elizabeth national park in Uganda, and Lake Manyara national park in Tanzania. The tree climbing lions are the different from others in that the male ones have got the black manes. In Queen Elizabeth national park the tree climbing lions are found in Ishasha sector, and these lions can be best spotted during the game drives in the savannah plains in the park. Tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth national park are magnificent when sighting them as these they keep on lazily lying in the acacia and the sycamore fig trees and these can be best watched during the day time. Tree climbing lions usually keeps on staring down words for the prey like the antelopes that can be grazing around in the sector in the savannah.
Tree climbing lion in Ishasha sector Queen Elizabeth national park can be seen all the year around. But the perfect time to see the tree climbing lions is during the dry season in months of June to August and December to February, which is the best time to do game driving in the park hence giving the tourists the best view of the tree climbing lions. During the dry season that’s when the park receives little amounts of rainfall, and sunshine can be a lot especially during afternoon in the ground in the park, hence making the lions to climb the trees which gives tourists the best opportunity to spot the tree climbing lions as they are lying up in the fig trees.
